Are you ready for the Australian Open Bowls? It’s right around the corner and not to be missed if you’re a lawn bowls fan looking to get in on the action or spectate from the sidelines.
The Australian Open is the world’s biggest bowls festival that has made its home on the Gold Coast – the “lawn bowls capital of Australia” – since 2015, hosting over 4500 matches each year.
Now, it’s back for 2021 and ready to deliver two full weeks of non-stop bowls!
This year’s main format will comprise Men’s and Women’s Singles, Pairs and Fours in knockout rounds that will proceed to quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.
In addition, there will also be Men’s and Women’s Over 60s Pairs, Vision Impaired Pairs, Bowlers with a Disability Singles and Pairs, plus Boys and Girls Under 18 Singles.
Matches will take place daily (morning and afternoon) at 13 top hosts Gold Coast bowls clubs, with a whopping total prize purse of $275,000!
