Carving a path around and through Burleigh Headland, are two scenic walking tracks, perfect for taking in the stunning views and natural habitat.
Burleigh Headland consists of 27ha national park abundant with rainforest, eucalypt forest, pandanus groves, tussock grassland, coastal heath, mangroves, creeks, rocky foreshore and beautiful beaches.
The area is also rich with wildlife including birds, lizards, and butterflies. Be sure to keep an eye out in the winter months for passing whales, dolphins, turtles and other fantastic marine life.
Burleigh Headland Walking Tracks
Oceanview Walk – Grade 2
Covering a distance of 1.2km one-way, the track skirts the coastline at the base of the rocky headland from Burleigh Heads to Tallebudgera Creek. You can either return via the same track or take the Rainforest circuit. Allow 30 minutes to complete this walk.
Rainforest Circuit – Grade 3
While most of this track is considered an easy grade, there is a steep section in the middle near Tumgun Lookout. The lookout provides a great spot to relax for a moment and watch out for any passing marine life; particularly Humpback Whales from May to November each year.
This track is approximately 2.3km return and you will need roughly 45minutes to complete this course.
We suggest suitable clothing particularly sensible walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen and take a bottle of water.
Some safety guidelines need to be adhered to including obeying signs and any track closures, as well as supervising children at all times.
