One of Australia’s premier and most exciting site-specific contemporary art events, the BLEACH* Festival, continues to play an essential role in conveying local stories and providing substantial cultural activities on the Gold Coast.
From August 3 to 13, the festival will celebrate its 12th anniversary with the most extensive program in Bleach* history! Prepare to see over 300 artists and 218 performances at more than 38 events spread across five main hubs, including the coastal sanctuary of North Burleigh, the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens, HOTA, and Currumbin Valley.
The fifth hub is a brand-new exciting venue at the freshly opened Broadbeach Cultural Precinct. BLEACH* will also have a city-wide presence with an exciting convoy of Monster Trucks: an 8-truck fleet featuring commissioned artwork by a local artist.

BLEACH* Love Your Local North Burleigh Hub is the place to be! All North Burleigh programs are family-friendly and accessible; however, some may require reservations. The festival’s start time is also determined here.
The FIRST LIGHT – HEARTLAND will transpire at The Esplanade in North Burleigh on August 3. Kalkadunga man William Barton and violinist Véronique Serret will perform during the event. Then catch ENCOUNTER GOLD, directed by award-winning choreographer Emma Saunders, which will be shown from August 5 to 6. Watch in astonishment as some of the country’s greatest artists, including writer Felicity Castagna, composers Amanda Brown (The Go-Betweens) and Jodi Phillis (The Clouds), poet Warren Foster, and a cast of ten dancers, converge on the same stage. This soul-stirring concert will delve into the every day extraordinary and vitality that drives our next generation.
A LIVE MUSIC STAGE will be available at the Gold Coast’s best beachside club from August 4 to 6 and 11 to 13. This creative hub is the place to be for a fantastic time, with a superb lineup of live music, workshops, and speeches. There are various events in the North Burleigh Hub, while Currumbin Valley also has excellent programs.
