Know the Events

As mentioned, the 115th event features numerous entertainment and activities for the whole family, starting with:

Commercial Expo Site: The annual community festival showcases traditions in a coastal city setting. Exhibitors from significant agriculture industries will be present at the Commercial Expo Site (non-food). Don’t forget to browse the Australian-made and -designed products while you’re there.

Competitions: Along with uniting the sun, sea, and country, The Show combines talent. The Gold Coast Show Competition has five categories. First is the Arts. Photography, paintings, drawings, ceramics, pottery, glass crafts, sculpture, and indigenous art are all included in the art competition. The second is the equestrian competition. It will be on August 26 at the horse section. The third category is home crafts, which include cooking and baking, making cakes, crocheting, hand knitting, embroidering, making lace, and machine sewing and embroidering.

This year, Amanda Everson will judge the Working Dogs category for the Show Dogs competition, which includes cattle dogs, Kelpies, Collies, Shelties, and Corgis. The Non-Sporting canines, which have Poodles, Great Danes, Bulldogs, Dalmatians, and Siberian Huskies, among others, will be judged by Glen Wilshier. Additionally, there will also be a fantastic dog grooming competition.

Last is the Woodchop competition, which takes place on the 27th. Woodchopping, where adoring audience members applaud the strong men and women who pick up the axe, is a popular event at the Gold Coast Show. Participants in this traditional sport go from around South East Queensland and Northern NSW to compete.

Entertainment: The 2022 Gold Coast Show Ambassador is CMC Hall of Famer and Australian artist James Blundell. He will be performing at the opening. On the Triple M Live & Loud Stage, there will also be many bands, musicians, and performers. Additionally, there will be roving entertainment, including Humphrey B. Bear. Undoubtedly, your children will appreciate seeing this amiable brown bear in person. So keep your eye peeled!

Moreover, Pony Rides, Camel Rides, and other popular festival attractions are also available. Various games will be at the venue, including Shooting Gallery, Catch A Croc, Catch a Duck, Laughing Clowns and more. If you love thrilling rides, the Gold Coast Show has plenty, like the tornado and the bungee trampoline. There are also kiddie rides for the little one to enjoy. Oh, and make sure you watch the fireworks at night!
