Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a heritage-listed zoological garden and the most popular tourist attraction on the Gold Coast. You and your family may immerse yourselves in the natural beauty and magic of the Currumbin rainforest by roaming through open animal enclosures, feeding kangaroos and cuddling koalas. Wild lorikeet feedings, free-flight bird presentations, and Aboriginal performances also exist.

Art Trail

There have been new attractions for kids to enjoy over the years. Visitors can explore the curated outdoor gallery with the new sanctuary Art Trail. Discover 12 beautiful pieces of artwork set inside Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s 27 hectares of lush, subtropical surroundings by following a map path.

Extinction Trail

Do you want to go back in time? Take the Extinction Trail to learn about the world’s dinosaurs and megafauna. You’ll face these titans as you go through the Mesozoic Era, which lasted between 245 and 66 million years ago. Discover how they lived, how the earth changed, and what caused the great extinction.

Wild Island Adventure Splash Zone

The Wild Island Adventure Splash Zone is the newest addition to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. The area allows children up to the age of 12 to run through various timed water jets, streams, and waterfalls. Wild Island Playground, set amongst a gorgeous backdrop of sub-tropical flora and fauna and surrounded by sculptures of Australian wildlife and natural features, offers much for youngsters to climb and explore, including adventure play, spider web, and more!

In addition to these permanent attractions, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary organises an annual Halloween event you will want to attend.

FestEvil at the Fangtuary

The Fangtuary will reopen for Halloween on October 26 and 28. That’s three nights of Halloween fun, shows, and trick-or-treating for the whole family. You are encouraged to wear costumes and face make-up during the festivities.

Note that there are four (4) Trick or Treat Stations in Zones 1, 2, 3, and 4. Make sure to have your card stamped at each location. Each zone has a different theme and things to look forward to.

The Haunted House is in Zone 1. It’s a Nocturnal Zone, yet you might see some creatures and a Ghost Train Station. Zone 2 is Jurassic Alley, where you can discover the Extinction Trail, a Ghost Train Station, a graveyard, and Beefy’s Aussie Pies.

Zone 3 is where to be if you need to recharge your batteries. The Halloweenies Food Stall and Wild Burgers are in Zone 3 or the Wild Asylum. There’s also the Wild Island Adventure and Playground. Finally, Zone 4 is known as Zombie Swamp. Your kids will enjoy the Kids’ DJ and the incredible obstacle course that awaits them. If you need to take a break, there will be a Zombie Bar and al fresco seating.
