Here are a handful of the adventures just around the corner.

Experience Burleigh Heads

On your first day, why not experience Burleigh Heads? Sandwiched between sparkling Surfers Paradise and laid-back Coolangatta, Burleigh Heads is famous for its powerful surf waves, massive pine trees, on trend local restaurants and boutique shopping.

On any day, you can see families using the barbecues at the Burleigh foreshore. You may also observe individuals at a restaurant outside as the sun sets. Rick Shores, a beachfront restaurant specialising in Pan-Asian cuisine and receiving more honours than you can count, is the place to go for fine dining in Burleigh Heads, simply a hop skip and jump from Swell Resort.

The Tropic is another local favourite, full-service restaurant located at the northern end of Burleigh Pavilion. Fresh Mediterranean and contemporary Australian food are available at this laid-back but upscale restaurant, surrounded by sun and sea spray – dine where the locals dine!

After your evening out, Sunday morning calls for the markets! You can enjoy markets like the Burleigh Art and Craft Markets on weekends. Every last Sunday of the month, the Burleigh Art and Craft fairs provide a fantastic family outing. People can find something they like among over 100 stalls featuring locally produced arts and crafts stalls, fresh food, preserves, biscuits, and cakes. Or you can shop up a storm at The Village Markets, which is located at the Burleigh Heads State School, just a 5 minute walk from our apartments. Here you will find local artists showcasing their boutique clothing labels, homewares, pet supplies, artwork and more! Treat yourself to a unique find!

Explore the Oceanview Walk, Burleigh Head National Park

On Day 2 or whenever you like, take this short stroll across Burleigh Head National Park. You will adore the beautiful seaside views and learn where the ancient volcanic columns meet the sea.

The southern park entrance is next to Tallebudgera Creek, and the Oceanview track leads around the rocky headland from Burleigh Heads township’s southern boundary. Bring a picnic, unwind by the creek at Echo Beach (the secret location of many photoshoots and movie scenes) and take in the sight of the broken-up clusters of six-sided basalt columns. Whales can be seen in the winter and spring, while summer brings out white-bellied sea eagles and birdwing butterflies.

Allow 30 minutes to walk the footpath through pandanus forests, tussock grasslands, coastal heath, and mangroves from the rocky headland at Tallebudgera Creek to southern Burleigh to take in the scenery. Returning either through the same route or the Rainforest circle and Tumgun viewpoint are also stunning options.

Check Park Alerts for track closures, heed the warning sign that reads “DANGER boulder fall zone restricted access area,” and stick to the walking path for your safety.
